Gmail logout loop

Monday, July 27th, 2009

I’d heard of the gmail logout loop before, but never experienced it until today when I was borrowing my mom’s mac. It was a terribly persistent little issue too. Essentially, when I tried to log out of my dad’s gmail in order to log into mine, I got caught on a screen that endlessly looped through the logout process without ever fully completing it. Restarting the browser window didn’t help, because anytime I’d go to gmail.com it’d have me automatically redirected to the same looping logout.

Clearing her cookies probably would have if I’d known where cookies were stored so I could selectively remove the ones I wanted without messing up the rest of them for her. But first I turned to google for my solution, and to my surprise, none of the top hits I scanned through had an easy fix.

So I figured out one myself. It’s easy, maybe even a bit of a face-palm sort of solution, but it worked. That page you’re googling from? Simply click logout on IT. That logout should work. If it doesn’t, try clearing your private data. You’ll have to re-log into sites that normally keep you signed in, but that’s not such a horrible thing. Good luck.

Garden of Eden Collage

Sunday, July 26th, 2009

(Oops – original title was College Collage. I decided that was dumb but took out the wrong word. D’oh!)

My new living room has the words “All Because Two People Fell In Love” plastered across the wall, no doubt above where a large family photo used to hang. Not the most encouraging thing in the world given the circumstances that had caused me to move here in the first place. So after some thought and joking around with my brothers, I decided I’d find or make an Adam & Eve picture and find a way to conceal the “in love” bit, so it’d say “All Because Two People Fell” instead.

A few weeks later, I had to make a self-expressive collage for one of my classes. Perfect opportunity, right? Here’s how it turned out:

All Because Two People Fell

All Because Two People Fell

I haven’t hung it yet, and I don’t know whether I will. Maybe I’ll just ask the homeowner if she’d mind me simply unsticking the vinyl lettering. Or maybe I’ll paint over it a little to calm the stark edges down a bit. What do you think?

UTOS: The Official Grill

Tuesday, July 14th, 2009

I didn’t get very many good photos at the UTOS Nerds in the Sun Barbecue this year, being stuck with a low res old camera and the rain and all. However, I must preserve the memory of Victor’s incredible grill… (more…)

Devil in the Details…

I could not figure out for the life of me why this grasshopper was so willing to pose for me. I snapped a half dozen photos or so and he hardly moved; certainly didn’t jump out of the way when I got up close or one like this. It didn’t dawn on me until I was looking at the blown up photos that he’s missing a leg. Poor little guy!

To the Moon and Back

Friday, July 10th, 2009

Twitter is just full of great ideas:

RT @Crazycanuckblog: RT @hbaskas The 40th anniv. of 1st moon landing is July 20th. Know anyone planning a special celebration? Looking for ideas. #moonlanding

A mid-summer moon landing party sounds like a blast. I’m thinking of baking a crater cake with them for family night and having astronaut icecream along side it. Too bad the moon will be little more than a sliver that night! We’ll still have fun though I’m sure :)
