Idea Blog

Coming up with ideas is the easy part for me, making them work is another thing. So when I do come up with something that works well, I’ll post it here. I’m also including a few experiences with some of my not-so-stellar plans.

New Traditions

Sunday, December 13th, 2009

Weeks before Halloween, as I was tucking her into bed, Mary gushed, “I am SO excited for Christmas this year… we get to have TWO sets of traditions now!” Kids are so good at looking on the bright side! So over the past few weeks, we’ve been starting some new traditions. I thought I’d share two…

Pineapple Upside Brownies

Sunday, August 30th, 2009

Add a scoop of icecream to make this taste just like a hot fudge and caramel sundae with pineapple on top. It’s really just your typical Pineapple Upside Down Cake, only made with a brownie recipe instead. And I use the term recipe loosely.

To the Moon and Back

Friday, July 10th, 2009

Twitter is just full of great ideas:

RT @Crazycanuckblog: RT @hbaskas The 40th anniv. of 1st moon landing is July 20th. Know anyone planning a special celebration? Looking for ideas. #moonlanding

A mid-summer moon landing party sounds like a blast. I’m thinking of baking a crater cake with them for family night and having astronaut icecream along side it. Too bad the moon will be little more than a sliver that night! We’ll still have fun though I’m sure :)
