Leonids, anyone?
Tuesday, October 25th, 2005On my old supernovia.tripod.com site I think I once said that I was really into astrology. Please forgive me, I was a teenager. I like ASTRONOMY. But something about leonids and me being a “leo” has always attracted me to this particular meteor shower, or maybe it’s just that the air’s a bit cooler and crisper and the nights longer and darker in November so the shooting stars are at their brightest, or maybe it’s just that a little cuddling is required to stay warm during observation
At any rate, here’s a super fly little “Meteor Observing Calendar” by Gary W. Kronk that’s been on the net since way back when I was a teenager, showing when meteor showers are due each month. Have a look & I’ll see you in November
Aren’s Blog
Monday, October 17th, 2005For anyone who remembers, in January my little niece Lily died. Her brother Aren has the same immune system problems and has just had a bone marrow transplant to try to correct them. We’re all a bit terrified but so far he seems to be doing great. He’s such a funny, smart kid. I made a blog for them to type in and I have to say Rick’s writing style is just what the doctor ordered when it comes to calming the family’s nerves. Check out their site, and keep Aren in your thoughts and prayers over the next few weeks
Putty (No, I don’t mean PuTTY)
Sunday, September 18th, 2005Updating the blog and back-posting long-lost articles… This is an older story I forgot to publish. There are some links to some super-fly putty sites. Check them out. (more…)
Where DID you get that Shawl?
Friday, September 2nd, 2005I’ve never been the fashonitsa, unless there’s a runway for Tired Mothers of Toddlers. At least I’ve graduated from MOI – Mothers of Infants – the hallmarks of that style being nursing shirts and leftover maternity clothes accented with spitup.
But this fall I’ll try a little harder, and have more success in style, thanks to Chalinas. I’ll have to post a pic of my cold-weather ensemble made complete with soft, georgeous neckwear! In the meantime, check out the selection of unique, hand-made scarves and shawls imported from South America. And be sure to click on the “Detailed Images” tab so you can see how these really look! And, because I helped the store owner with setting up his site to accept discounts, the coupon code NOVAPAGES20 will get you 20% off your order this September. Have fun! (more…)
